Go-To Green Smoothie

I absolutely love green smoothies, but when I first started making them, I couldn't figure out the formula. Sometimes they would literally just taste like kale! I think the best thing to do is find a good protein powder that you actually like the taste of. I provide 3 (good, clean, plant based) protein powders in this recipe that I recommend. This recipe is low on sugar as it is limited in fruit. This is something I have been trying to do to keep my blood sugar balance in check. If it is not sweet enough for you, go ahead and add half a banana. Ease into it and most importantly enjoy!
1 Scoop Vanilla Protein Powder (See options below)
1.50 cups Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk (I love Califia farms)
¼ Avocado (healthy fats keep you satisfied)
1 tbsp Chia Seeds (yay fibre!)
Handful of fresh or frozen spinach (or kale)
½ tbsp Natural Almond Butter (or nut butter of your choice)
 ½ Fresh Squeezed Lemon
My fave plant based protein powders are Toneitup Vanilla, Vega Vanilla + Greens and LyfeFuel Vanilla Chai

1

1. Pour almond milk in blender
2. Add all other ingredients in
3. Add a cup of ice in after all the other ingredients are blended. This adds thickness and makes the smoothie super cold and freshing.

Feel free to top with some good quality granola, shaved coconut, bee pollen or some berries - whatever your heart desires.

Enjoy!
