Fudgey Protein Brownies (w/ a secret ingredient)

You guys are going to love these brownies! I swear by them. They are both fluffy AND fudgey - which makes them meet all the brownie requirements (if you ask me!). I used ripe avocado in this recipe which allows them to have that amazing texture. I promise, they do not taste like avocado though, and you would never know unless I told you! 

Beyond that, they are not just regular ol' brownies - they are PROTEIN BROWNIES. I added Health Warrior Chocolate Superfood Protein Powder (say that 10 times fast), which makes these sweet treats have some extra nutritional value. It is paleo, plant-based, and my favorite! I have been using this powder for months in my smoothies, baked goods and even just with almond milk. I truly enjoy the taste of it! It is not chalky and does not have any whey in it (that stuff really hurts my tummy).  Each serving has 20G of protein and 6G of fiber. That is legit you guys! Oh, and there is only 1G of sugar per serving too - low sugar protein powders are key and there are no sugar alcohols in it either!  1 Large Very Ripe Avocado
 ½ cup Pure Maple Syrup
 ½ cup Unsweetened Apple Sauce
 3 Eggs
 1 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
 ½ cup Almond Flour
 ½ cup Dutch Pressed Cocoa Powder
 1 Scoop of Chocolate Protein Powder (I use Health Warrior - as I noted above)
 1 tsp Baking Soda
 salt
 ½ cup Dairy Free Chocolate Chip

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Mash ripe avocado very well. I use a potato masher on a plastic cutting mat. Make sure to get out as many chunks!

Mix wet ingredients in a large bowl with a hand mixer (or in a stand mixer).

Mix in dry ingredients. Make sure all the ingredients are well blended. Add in chocolate chips.

Spray a brownie tin with coconut oil spray and add in the batter evenly. I use one with individual brownie sections (similar to a muffin tin - you can get it on Amazon).

NOTE: A regular pan will also work, but you may have to bake it for another 5 to 10 minutes.

Bake for 20 minutes. Add time if you used a regular brownie tin instead of the individual ones. Let cool for 10 minutes.
