BOLOGNESE PASTA BAKE! This one is SO EASY and requires no boiling. Basically throwing it all in a dish and baking. So comforting and delicious and a great make ahead option. Plus, you can sub the meat sauce with any other sauce you love. Save this recipe to make and follow for more!
Bolognese Pasta Bake (Serves 4-6)
1/2 lb box short cut pasta (I used @barillaus protein+ fusilli)
1 shallot, sliced thin
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 C sweet cherry tomatoes, sliced
1 24 oz jar of bolognese (any premade pasta sauce works here)
1 C heavy cream
1 C chicken broth or stock
1.5 C shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 C shredded Parmesan cheese
Salt and pepper
Olive oil
Handful of chopped basil (for garnish)
Preheat oven to 400.
Drizzle olive oil into a casserole dish (9x13). Add garlic, shallots, tomatoes, jarred sauce, dry pasta, cream, chicken stock, salt and pepper to taste, and half the shredded mozzarella cheese. Mix well.
Make sure pasta is submerged in liquid.
Double cover with tinfoil. Bake for 45 minutes (or until pasta is cooked).
Remove cover and add the remaining mozzarella cheese and fresh grated Parmesan. Bake for another 5 minutes until melted. Remove foil and let sit for a few minutes until all liquid is absorbed.
Sprinkle fresh basil and more Parmesan cheese if desired.
