Kat and I met on Instagram. Like a lot of my new friendships, actually. But I will save that for another blog post. Kat is a young, creative, enthusiastic and bright photographer. After connecting online through our love for the Detroit food scene, I discovered that Kat was a bomb photographer. Shortly after, we made a plan to do a collaborative photoshoot. Now, I am no model – but she sure made me look like one (thanks, Kat).
I had a vision for a golden hour photoshoot downtown Detroit. Just as the sun was at its peak brightness before sunset – we met at the Dequindre Cut downtown. This recreational bike/walk/run path follows the old Grand Trunk railway. One of the hallmark gentrification projects in Detroit. So cool to be down there and see how busy and lively it was! I love it. It was the perfect spot to capture both urban and natural landscapes for the shoot. She totally met that vision and beyond. I am obsessed with her photos and can’t wait to share them with you in the slideshow below!
Super excited to share that these pictures were featured on the blog J’adore Detroit. Check out the article here – it is all about getting that perfect Instagram shot.
