Over the years I have gotten to a very basic place with my makeup routine. I probably wear it 2-3 times a week depending on what I have going on socially. Day to day, I just moisturize and call it a day and when I do wear makeup I try to make it super simple, use clean products and keep it to under 10 minutes. I go for a very radiant and glowy look. Below I am sharing my favorite products and method to achieve this look!
Here are the steps:
- Wash Face, Spray with Toner
- Apply facial oil or SPF moisturizer.
- Apply tinted moisturizer and glow cream.
- Apply bronzer (winter only).
- Apply Blush.
- Apply Highlight.
- Do the brows.
- Apply Mascara.
- Do the lips.
After I wash my face (I use Cetaphil or an Cocokind oil based cleaner) I spray it with Cocokind Rose Water Toner. This gives it a fresh feeling and hydrates it before I put on makeup.
Next I put on a moisturizer. This is either a facial oil, SPF cream or both. For day, I usually go with SPF and for night I usually go with the oil. I use Cocokind Chia Facial oil and Bare Minerals Skinlongevity SPF moisturizer.
Next I apply a tinted moisturizer. I love Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue (I use the vanilla tone). This just evens out my skin really well while also adding a nice glow.
On top of that, I usually add some sort of brightening lotion – this elevates the overall glow. I like Wander Beauty brightening cream and First Aid Beauty coconut skin primer.
If I feel pale, I will add some bronzer along my cheek bones and temples. I usually only do this in the winter. I use Bare Minerals “Endless Summer” Bronzer shade “warmth” or Wander Beauty “costa rei” bronzer.
Apply blush. I love Bare Minerals Gen Nude “Pink me up” and Wander Beauty “bellini” or their “on the glow” stick in “coral rose”.
Highlight! Apply the high cheek bones, along the nose and a tiny bit on the temples. I LOVE the glowy look, so I usually go all out with this. I love Becca “opal” highlighter (not non toxic). I also love the Wander Beauty “On the glow” highlight stick and the Cocokind highlighters.
Next is brows. To me, this is the most important! Good brows go a long way. I use Glossier Boy Brow in “blond” to shape / darken them. I also like the Ilia Beauty Essential Brow Brush in Blonde Sometimes I just use a simple clear gel to put them in shape (they can get a little curly).
Mascara! I only wear mascara if I really feel like I need it because nothing is more annoying than taking it off. Lately, I have been loving the Ilia Mascara in Nightfall and the Lashtopia mascara by Bare Minerals. I also love the Unlashed Volume and Curl Mascara by Wander beauty. The Found beauty volumizing mascara is also amazing if I am going for a more dramatic look.
Lastly, I apply a simple pink lip. Usually a dusty rose lipstick by Burts Bees called “Blush Basin” or the “Raspberry” gloss from Found Beauty.
If I am going to a wedding or want a more dramatic look, I will do a smokey eye look. For this, I use the Bare Minerals “Gen Nude” Rose Eyeshadow Palette.
That’s it for now! Thanks for reading!
