HEALTHY HOMEMADE PEPPERMINT MOCHA IS HERE! I am so beyond excited. I finally perfected this healthy take on a classic holiday Starbucks drink. I absolutely love the peppermint mocha from Starbucks BUT it is pretty expensive and it's not the healthiest.. so I wanted to make a version of my own. Some of my favorite things include coffee, chocolate and peppermint flavors so I am SO thrilled about this one. The best part about this recipe is that you can enjoy it both hot and cold. You can keep it warm and frothy for these chilly days or pour it over ice. I know some people live drinking cold coffee all year round so I wanted to share that option. Both are delish of course ūüôā

This healthy peppermint mocha is packed with protein, fiber and probiotics. ALL with the Health Warrior Chocolate Superfood Protein Powder (my absolute fave). Just a little bit goes a long way with this stuff. It is made with incredible ingredients and has a rich chocolate taste - nothing chalky, do not worry! It is made of chia seeds, pumpkin seeds, flax seeds and packs 20G of protein per serving plus 5G of fiber and less than 1G of sugar. All things I can get on board with! 

What you need for this: 

  • Health Warrior Chocolate Superfood Protein Powder
  • Milk or Dairy Free Milk of your choice (Preferably one that will froth well)
  • Coffee (duh!) - As I mentioned above, cold and hot coffee works.¬†
  • Peppermint Extract¬† - Easily found at any grocery store.
  • Cinnamon and Chocolate Sprinkles for Toppings - My faves!

I also used a high speed blender and a milk frother for this recipe. If you do not have a frother, you can just use the blender. And if you do not have a blender, you can use a food processor!

Ingredients:

 8 - 10 oz C Coffee
 1 tbsp HW Chocolate Protein
 ½ tsp Peppermint Extract¬†
 1 cup Milk / Non Dairy Milk / Creamer ¬†(1/2 for blending and the other half for frothing)
 Cinnamon and Chocolate Sprinkles for Toppings

Directions:

Make coffee according to your normal method. Pour over, drip, and keurig/espresso all work just fine.

Heat up 1 C of milk in a microwave for 1 minute. Set aside.

In a blender, add coffee, 1/2 the hot milk, peppermint, and Health Warrior Chocolate Superfood Protein Powder. Blend well and low for 15 seconds.

Froth the second half of milk in a frother. Pour coffee mixture into a mug and then the frothed milk on top.

Sprinkle cinnamon and chocolate sprinkles on top! Enjoy!
